Malevolent VII [EX-14] is an Extra Booster from Bandai’s Digimon Card Game, scheduled for release in January 2027. Bandai’s official announcements describe it as booster packs featuring the Seven Great Demon Lords, one of the most recognisable villain groups in the Digimon franchise.
What is being released
Bandai confirmed the product name and code, EXTRA BOOSTER MALEVOLENT VII [EX-14], in its BANDAI CARD GAMES Next Plan announcement, and stated in its May 2026 report that it is scheduled for release in January 2027. The official site has not yet published a final pack configuration or full card list.
Why this release is significant
Malevolent VII sits inside Bandai’s X Antibody run. The official Producer Letter explains that Ignition of X, Malevolent VII and Abyss of X together bring popular Digimon through to March 2027. For players, that means EX-14 is part of a connected sequence rather than a standalone release, and its Demon Lord focus pairs naturally with the X Antibody sets around it.
Competitive gameplay impact
Extra Boosters typically deliver concentrated support for specific strategies. With the Seven Great Demon Lords as the theme, Demon Lord decks are the obvious beneficiaries. Exact cards and effects are still to be revealed on the official card list, so we will update this article as Bandai publishes them.
Why players should care
If the Seven Great Demon Lords are your favourite Digimon, this is their set. It also lands early in the year, which makes it a good moment for new Tamers to start alongside players who are all exploring the same fresh cards.
