Immortal Phoenix opens the 2027 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG calendar with a 100-card booster built around one of the most famous threats in the anime: Marik’s Sun God monsters and The Winged Dragon of Ra. Konami lists the North American launch for 29 January 2027, with Official Tournament Stores getting it on 27 January.
What is being released
Immortal Phoenix is a 100-card booster set at a suggested US$4.49 per pack. The official rarity spread is 10 Secret Rares, 14 Ultra Rares, 26 Super Rares and 50 Commons. Five cards are also available as extended art Ultra Rares and Starlight Rares, and a further 20 cards can appear as Starlight Rares.
Konami describes four main strands. Ten new Sun God cards reimagine Marik’s monsters. Salamangreat, the FIRE deck used by Soulburner, gets new and revamped cards. Winter Raven continues the Sinful Spoils story with cards that hide monsters in the Spell & Trap Zone, plus Synchro Knights and support for Diabell decks. And Celestigard makes its world premiere as a new Xyz theme built on planetary alignment.
Why this release is significant
This set matters because it turns an iconic anime moment into a real deck. The Immortal Sun God is a Quick-Play Spell that can Summon The Winged Dragon of Ra monsters, and it is supported by reimagined versions of Helpoemer, Makyura, Gil Garth and Viser Des Shock. The Winged Dragon of Ra, Sun God of Darkness arrives as a DIVINE Extra Deck monster, and Lava Golem returns as Lava Golem, Steelcage of the Sun God.
Alongside the Sun God cards, Konami confirms Salamangreat Markhor, Salamangreat Bastella, a reimagined Salamangreat Shrine and King of Beasts, Risen from the Valley of Flames, plus Winter Raven cards such as Diabellze, Heiress of the Winter Raven’s Forest. Celestigard’s Rank 5 centrepiece is Celestigard Star-Eclipsing Aetos Dios.
Competitive gameplay impact
For locals, Immortal Phoenix gives three established strategies something new at once. Salamangreat and Diabell players get direct upgrades, Winter Raven extends the Sinful Spoils engine, and the Sun God package gives Ra fans a structured way to build around the Egyptian God. Celestigard adds a fresh Xyz option with Levels 2, 3, 5 and 8, so expect experimentation in the first weeks after release.
Collector value and exclusivity
The chase sits in the extended art Ultra Rares and Starlight Rares. With five cards available as extended art Ultra Rares and Starlight Rares, and 20 more as Starlight Rares, the set gives collectors a clear high end. Konami notes that set contents and names can still change before release.
Why players should care
If you watched Marik summon Ra, this set is written for you. If you play Salamangreat, Diabell or Winter Raven, it is a practical upgrade. And if you are new, a fresh booster with a brand-new theme is one of the easiest moments to join a Duel night, because everyone is learning the cards at the same time.
